Pioneering safety initiatives in aviation and beyond.
Captain Reyné O’Shaughnessy has been a commercial airline pilot (Ret.) for over 34 years for a Fortune 50 company. She has logged over 10,000 hours of total heavy jet flight time. Her aircraft experience includes B727, B757/B767, Airbus 300/310, and notably, thirty four years ago she was one of the first women B747 qualified.
Collaborating with Captain Reyné O'Shaughnessy has been an exceptional experience. After reading her book, "This is your Captain speaking," we invited her to speak at the ALTA Pan American Aviation Safety & Ops Summit in Chile. Her involvement surpassed our expectations as Captain Reyné demonstrated a wealth of knowledge, unwavering focus, and exceptional teaching skills. One crucial insight gained from working with Captain Reyné was the heightened importance of airline managers prioritizing the mental health challenges faced by crew members. Her presentation at our event left a profound impact on the audience, raising awareness about the prevalence of mental health issues within the industry and emphasizing the need for preventative measures and support for affected professionals. For anyone considering working with Captain Reyné, I wholeheartedly recommend her participation. She possesses a deep understanding of mental health matters and provides practical strategies for prevention and treatment. I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude for the pleasure of collaborating with Captain Reyné. From our initial conversation, she demonstrated the utmost professionalism and worked diligently to ensure her involvement in our event was a resounding success. Her expertise and unwavering dedication have left a lasting impression on both our team and attendees.
